Let’s start by setting the scene for your processional music
Your processional music is the first sign that the official part of your ceremony is starting. It’s the moment when your wedding party will make their appearance, and it’s also the final moment before you walk down the aisle.
Playing songs that flow nicely with your prelude music, but also changes up the mood a bit, will work nicely here. For instance, if your prelude music is more calm and peaceful, you might want to choose music with a little more energy for your prelude (or, vice versa.)
This will add to the significance of the moment, and alert your guests to pay attention because there’s a change coming in your ceremony.
It’s time to pick out your processional music
When choosing your music, there are a few things to thing about:
How do you want your guests to feel as they wait for your ceremony to begin, or what mood do you want to set?
Do you want to play instrumental music, or songs with lyrics?
If you choose to play instrumental music, what is your favorite instrument?
Who are your favorite bands and are there any good instrumental versions of their songs you could use?
Answering these questions will give you a clear idea of exactly what kind of music you’re looking for, and will help you choose songs you love. Also, keep in mind that, the amount of songs you’ll need for your processional will depend on how many people are in your wedding party. You may need 2-3 songs (or more) to cover the amount of time it will take them to walk down the aisle and get in place. In this case, having too many songs is better than not enough.
I have a beautiful playlist of wedding song ideas for you to preview. You can preview the playlist, by clicking here. I hope it helps you find music you love, so the processional portion of your ceremony is a heartwarming moment you'll never forget.
